Transformation of an Old Flooded Home into a Modern Eco House!
Originally an asbestos clad dwelling, this cottage has been transformed into a contemporary home based around creative, smart and relevant Design with local products delivering a magic makeover in fewer than 10 days.
Description of works carried out:
- Removed all of the exterior asbestos sheeting
- Removed all of existing aluminium window awnings
- Removed all existing decromastic aluminium tile and original corrugated iron roof
- Installed R3 woollen batts and green insulation air cells in walls
- Installed R3 ceiling batts and anticon 60mm foil insulation in roof
- Affected all tie down to Australian standard
- Replaced all existing battens and fascia
- Installed eaves soffit
- Extended all southwest, northeast & western eaves soffit
- Re-clad the exterior in a mix of Colourbond custom orb and hardiflex flat sheeting
- Installed a new Colourbond custom orb roof and gutter
- Installed new window hoods to all exposed windows
- Provided timber screening for privacy at entry with native landscape
- Disposed of asbestos sheeting as per legislation
- Proudly recycled 100% of other deconstruction materials
Key Outcomes
